Confederate Flag Day will be celebrated on March 3rd all across Alabama. Open this post for information concerning the 7 Flag Day events that are currently planned.
The Flag Day event for the SE Brigade will be held at Confederate Memorial Park, 6403 Brantley Hwy. (Hwy 331) in Luverne. It will begin at 10 am and end at 4 pm. There will be arts and crafts, music, food,live firing artillery and military demonstrations.
The NE Brigade will celebrate Confederate Flag Day on March 3rd at Willingham’s Salvage Co. located at 1643 4th St. SW (Hwy 278) Cullman, Alabama. We will gather at 10 am around the large flag on the property and end at 2 pm. There will be free hot dogs and drinks, vendors and free Confederate flags. A short program will be given telling about the history of the Confederate Battle Flag.
Flag Day for the NEC Brigade will be held in Ashville at the Inzer House Museum located at 229 5th St. (Hwy 231) on March 3rd. We kick things off at 10 am. Lots of activities will be held celebrating this special day.
Come enjoy Confederate Flag Day at the Dismukes' property on Peninsula Lane, just south of Millbrook on Hwy 143. The date is Saturday 3 March from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM. The Shiloh Mountain Boys will provide their usual excellent bluegrass gospel entertainment with other songs of the mid 1800's period. There will be games and a "bouncy house" for the kids, free hot dogs, chips and soft drinks and excellent Southern fellowship. The Prattville Dragoons will have several Confederate Flags on display some of which will easily be seen from Interstate 65. This event is open to the public so make your plans to attend! The NWC Brigade will hold its celebration of Flag Day at the I-22 Battle Flag site in Cordova just off exit 72. Gary Carlyle and Tim Kent will be speaking on Confederate history and heritage. There will be music, food and cannon salutes to honor and remember our Confederate ancestors.The Flag will be raised in remembrance and in salute to our Confederate Veterans who made us what we are today.
